About

Hi!  My name is Kayla and welcome to The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing, where crazy dreams meet a healthy balanced lifestyle.  I’m a 23 year old professional actor with a passion for art, food, exercise, and of course, love!  But dancing has always been the thing that’s defined me.  Kayla, the dancer.  It started early…

Here I am, at age eight.  My picture was in the local paper because I got the highest mark in the school on my Grade Two R.A.D. Ballet Exam.  Not much has changed since then… except I ditched the velvet scrunchie.  My legs are still that muscular and I still love to dance.

After studying Musical Theatre at college, I launched myself into the scary world of professional theatre in Canada.  Show Biz.  It’s not for the easily discouraged.  I have been a working actress for the last three years, traveling all over the country to perform in musicals.

As I’m sure you know, Show Biz is not exactly the most reliable or secure of careers.  When the going is good, you’ve never felt higher.  When there’s no work on the horizon, it’s very hard to stay motivated and inspired.  Enter…

The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing.

I’ve created this blog to inspire.  Myself, others artists, other humans who like art, other people who hate art … actually.. I guarantee you don’t hate art if you’re here.  Blogging is art my friends.  If you’ve created it, it counts.

Inspire, Create, Motivate, Discuss, and of course, strive to live a healthy, active, balanced lifestyle.  I love to cook and eat, exercise and lay on the couch.  Follow me on my journey to become the happiest, healthiest, most balanced actor, singer, dancer I can be.  It’s cheesy, I know.  But happiness is in our own hands, folks.  Negative thoughts breed negative lives.

You only live once, and I want my one life to be filled with The BEST Things… and I believe that the best things really do happen while you’re dancing.

  1. I love your life philosophy! 🙂
